Directions:
- Before you start, preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large pan over medium heat, heat olive oil.
- Add chopped onions and cook until tender (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in the ground meat and cook until browned.
- Add water and homemade taco spice, mix well, then reduce heat and simmer for 7 minutes.
- Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Roll out the pizza dough on the parchment paper to measure 10.15 inches.
- Use a pizza cutter to make a 1.5-inch slit 3 inches from each long side of the crust.
- Place the cooked ground beef in the middle of the dough.
- Cover the meat with 3/4 cup of cheese and add tomato cubes.
- Starting from one end, fold the first two slices to secure the filling.
- Repeat for the remaining slices.
- Gently brush the top and sides with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/4 cup of cheese.
- Transfer the parchment paper with the taco braid to the baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
- Allow it to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Top with chopped romaine lettuce and additional tomatoes for decoration.
- Serve the Taco braid with sour cream and taco sauce.
