APPLE PIE BREAD

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and then grease a large loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray
  2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl and set aside
  3. Use an electric mixer to mix together sugar and butter in a large bowl until the mix becomes smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the mix and stir well, until fully combined.
  5. Then add flour, baking powder and milk and stir well until the entire batter is fully combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover batter with half the diced apples, and press the apples down slightly into the batter.
  8. Sprinkle the apples with half the cinnamon and sugar mixture
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer.
  10. Top with remaining diced apples, and push the apples gently into the batter.
  11. Then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  12. Insert a toothpick into the dressed batter, then place in the preheated oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes, until the inserted toothpick comes out clean
  13. Take out of the oven, then allow to cool completely before removing from baking pan. Cut the bread into slices and serve for all to enjoy.

Recipe Tips:

  • Instead of apples, you could use pears or peaches.
  • This will taste just as good, maybe not as good as the apples, but it’ll still give you delicious pie bread.
  • Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing.
  • It cuts easier when it is cooled.
  • However, if you can’t wait – then dig into it warm, it may just be a bit more crumbly
  • If you want to make ahead, wrap the bread properly and store at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 4 months.
