  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F 
  2. Stir together in a small to medium bowl, your baking soda and baking powder, and flour. And set aside. 
  3. Now using a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until smooth. Mix egg and vanilla.
  4. Gently blend in the dry ingredients.
  5. Roll a rounded full teaspoon of dough into balls, and place them into ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes in your preheated oven, until turning golden.
  7. Let stand on a cookie sheet for three minutes before removing to cool.

Tips and tricks:

  • Be sure your flour is well misused. 
  • Add a tablespoon of good cinnamon for better flavor.
